Frauds targeting students and suppliers

There have been a number of fraud alerts on the discussion boards this week. Summer does seem to be the season for scams, so please do remain vigilant. There has been a reprisal of scams aimed at students, which try to harvest personal details for identity theft or to gain bank access. And there have been more distribution fraud attempts using fake university email addresses to fool university suppliers. The link includes tips on how you can get some of these fake websites closed down.
On the latter fraud you may wish to follow the example of Queen Mary’s and other HEIs and put a supplier fraud alert link on your university home page.
