AML - Student requests for refunds

It’s not unusual for your student finance teams to receive odd requests from students. Two that we’ve been made aware of this week are:

  1. The student pays from a card in their name but overpays against their fees and is owed a refund – normally the money should always be returned to the original card. However, the student says the card no longer exists.
  1. The student pays from an international account – again the money should go back to the original account the money was paid from. However, the student advises the account no longer exists.
