The Budget and HE

It's Budget day today, and that means we'll be tuning in at half-12 to hear/watch what the Chancellor has in store for the country in general, and the university sector in particular. We've already heard of a plan to automate data-sharing between HMRC and the SLC to automatically stop student loan repayments as they are paid off in full, and the Chancellor will also need to flesh out how the previously-announced changes to loan repayment thresholds will be funded. We'll be writing up the implications of various Budget measures for HE in next week's Digest.

Also, EY has provided us with this short document setting out their tax-related predictions for the statement, covering areas affecting universities.
