Communicating Success at The University of Huddersfield

Universities are complex organisations, so procurement needs to market itself effectively to ensure that the benefits of working with the team are clearly understood by all. Effective stakeholder engagement is recognised as a key component of a successful procurement team, and the function at the University of Huddersfield are demonstrating one of the ways they achieve this, through their quarterly newsletter.

Sent from the wider Financial Services Group, the newsletter highlights awards, projects and achievements from the finance team and has included information around the Customer Service Excellence Standard, open days for staff and information on “who is who” in the various teams, and how to contact them. It demonstrates the togetherness of the function but also, and more importantly, how they seek to actively engage with and support their colleagues in other departments.
