Request a fraud course - and an alert to be aware of

27 June 2018      Matt Sisson, Projects and Membership Manager

Earlier this month we held the latest Fraud First-Responders course, in London. These are excellent courses and to date they’ve catered for nearly 100 managers at over 60 institutions. One thing that institutions have told us though is that they are actually ‘time-sensitive’, in that the courses don’t always come along in the right place at the time when institutions are ready for training more managers in how to respond to fraud risks.

So rather than just putting more courses on at regular intervals, we’re asking members to let us know when you would like the courses to be held, and how many managers you’d like to put through it, and we’ll then work to host one as close to you as possible at a time that’s most convenient. If you are currently developing your counter-fraud preparedness/readiness, and think that you would like to host or be part of a course in your region, then please drop Rachel an email. To find out more about the course, including what it covers and who it’s for, click here.

In related news, university impersonation fraud is still a big deal. The link contains specific advice for HEIs from the East Midlands Regional Cyber Crime Unit that some institutions have already heeded – a simple addition to your website could make a big difference.
