Early test group for PwC's GITC tool

12 June 2018      Amanda Darley, Head of Operations and Engagement

Whilst at the time of writing HMRC is yet to release finalised guidance about Making Tax Digital ('MTD'), it remains one of the largest tax compliance issues heading your way, and it will be landing in your university in April 2019. It proved to be one of the biggest discussions at the recent tax conference, attended by 138 delegates from 85 BUFDG member institutions.

PwC presented a session to 100 delegates, demonstrating their Global Indirect Tax Compliance tool, which a group of universities is currently helping to bespoke for the HE sector, and which can help you deal with the MTD requirements. The demonstration produced a great deal of discussion at the conference, and PwC staff were on hand to provide further demonstrations and answer questions throughout. (If anyone would like a copy of the 22 page FAQ booklet with separate questions on MTD and on GITC, produced by PwC, then we have a few copies left over so please let Amanda know and we'll send one to you).

PwC is now looking for a group of ten universities who want to become early adopters of the GITC tool for HE and go through an early configuration and start realising the benefits of using GITC as soon as possible. If you are interested in becoming an early adopter of the tool, please contact Amanda as soon as possible.

Further information on what is included in and the cost of the 'base package' can be found here, and we will be providing more information in various formats over the next couple of months. If anyone has any feedback on the demonstration etc. from the conference, please pass it on to Amanda.
