Are you ready for a relationship with SONIA?
01 October 2019 Karel Thomas, Executive Director
Richard Robinson and Doug Laurie from Barclays joined us at the recent BUFDG Executive Committee meeting to brief us about the implications of SONIA replacing LIBOR at the end of 2021. If you would like their slides, please email me. This has been on the horizon for a while but it seems that only now are treasurers and finance directors thinking about the implications, and according to the Bank of England, deals are still being done with LIBOR as a reference rate. Many advisers are saying that it is a technical change that will not affect most organisations, but if you have any loans or financial instruments that reference LIBOR, you may need to act. The ACT has published an information note and checklist that should set you on the right track.
