Travels around HE

26 September 2018      Karel Thomas, Executive Director

Whether Wonkhe's intrepid Louis Coffait is styling himself as Phileas Fogg is unclear, but his articles are fascinating and well-written. His latest report from Derby is as good as those from Hull and Nottingham, which coincidentally are institutions featured in the BUFDG video series. The series of six short films examines what universities are, what they do, how they are run and why we should cherish and nuture them. They feature students, academic leaders, and finance directors who all try to explain why they think universities deliver immense value to the country. Here at BUFDG we are under no illusion that the films will be widely appreciated by people who do not realise their lives are affected by universities, but if every BUFDG member watches them and refers someone else to the site, the result will be many more colleagues inspired to talk about what great work they are involved with. They were produced by Electric Egg  and Matt Sisson, and star people you know - well-worth watching, maybe even more than once.
