The Jisc network solutions framework, launched on 1 June 2025, can help members save time and money procuring network equipment and associated services.
The framework was developed to replace the old network equipment framework, previously launched in 2019.
Jisc worked with technical experts, equipment manufacturers and market partners to create a framework for the education and public sector. It allows organisations to buy any network equipment or managed services, from large scale infrastructure projects to individual cables.
The new framework has distinct advantages over other procurement solutions. These include:
Neil Shewry, director of network, Jisc, said:
"The launch of this framework is an important achievement. Building on the previous network equipment framework, it offers future-proofed and unique benefits to both Jisc and our members and customers.
"We can compliantly and cost-effectively evolve Janet using the leading-edge network technology offered by the wide range of vendors and suppliers represented on the framework, and our members are able to do the same on their own networks."
John Shaile, director of procurement and supplier management, Jisc, said:
"This new framework empowers procurement teams across education and the public sector to buy smarter - maximising value, efficiency, and flexibility. Built on Jisc's trusted expertise, it delivers tailored agreements that make acquiring essential services and equipment simpler and more cost-effective."
The unlocking value with Jisc's new network solutions framework webinar on Tuesday 17 June will outline how the framework operates, and how it can help save time, money and guarantee compliance. It will share examples of how the framework has helped organisations to procure quickly and efficiently.
