On Wednesday, 22 March 2023, BUFDG welcomed back employment status experts within the HE sector, Rebecca Seeley Harris and Caroline Jones who provided members with another free training session on employment status and IR35.
As you may recall, as part of the off-payroll working rules, all employers are required to provide training to relevant staff members on employment status to demonstrate that they are taking reasonable care to ensure correct application of the rules.
Rebecca and Caroline provided updates, latest cases, penalties, positions, etc. on employment status of sole traders, IR35 and the off-payroll working rules (yes, they are all different!) to help universities meet their ‘reasonable care’ requirements.
