05 July 2022      Julia Ascott, Employment Taxes Specialist

Vialto’s first official higher education, global mobility newsletter shared their purpose, goals and continued collaboration in the sector.  There is also a document setting out what Vialto do for those who haven't seen it before.

Vialto have been attending various events with BUFDG and UHR over the last few months and provide their feedback of these in the newsletter. There are also dates for the diary for global mobility in the HE sector.

There is also an introduction to the Vialto China team who will be led by Jacky Chu and James Shen, with support from Qing Miao in London.  With this introduction comes various updates for China, including tax filing requirements and the relaxation of visa application policies and entry requirements covering:

  • Summary for F and Z visas – most commonly used in the sector
  • PU letter waiver for working in Shanghai
  • Covid health code requirements

Vialto summarised other international updates, including:

  • Social security Covid relaxation can be extended to 31 December 2022 in EU/EEA, but not all countries will apply this guideline, some will keep to 30 June 2022. Vialto provide a useful spreadsheet of treatment by the different countries
