Kingswood will provide a clear overview of the important factors involved in treasury investing, including: typical university investment parameters; understanding credit ratings; what investment instruments are available to cash investors; a look at yield curves and finding an appropriate risk / reward balance.
10.20 Cazenove and the University of Edinburgh: Treasury management
Cazenove will cover what makes an effective treasury policy with input from the University of Edinburgh, and learnings from their recent treasury policy review. The session will also cover views on the banking sector and appropriate treasury manaagement in the current macroeconomic environment.

11.30 QMPF: Financial modelling and forecasting
QMPF will leverage their experience in this area to suggest the best ways to approach modelling for the sector, how to get the most from your models and then use the outputs to inform business decisions. They will include:
12.15 Barclays: Adjusting from all time low interest rates to higher interest rates and inflation. How to consider and navigate this rapidly changing environment
The interest rate environment has changed dramatically over the past year from 350 year lows to aggressive rate tightening across the world and inflation proving more persistent than many thought. But what does this mean for your treasury management strategy? During this workshop we will provide a macroeconomic update, including our expectations on future interest rates and inflation, and the risk/return considerations to think about when selecting your approach.

14.30: Barclaycard: SCA and 3D Secure – demystifying and navigating the payments landscape
Over the last few years, the payments industry has implemented fraud prevention regulation that has increased friction when making and taking payments. Barclaycard will share how can your institution best navigate these changes? They will provide insight and thought leadership to help you plan an authentication strategy for future payments.

Centrus will take you through the background and growth of ESG financing. They will give an overview of different options and approaches including case studies of sustainable and green financing in the sector. Centrus will give tips on creating your sustainability framework. They will give a summary of the HE sector credit update.
16.15 ATFS: Financing Strategic Growth Plans
Building a partnership between strategy and finance is key to achieving successful delivery of your aims and ambitions. Within this session we explore the challenges universities are facing, how this may adjust strategy and planning. ATFS talk through the steps of modelling and understanding the key criteria to successful delivery, whilst understanding the level of funding and the right type of funding to support activities.
