Salix Finance provides interest-free loans and grants for energy efficiency projects within the public sector.
Salix has funded projects with a total value of £971 million, resulting in annual financial savings of £203 million and an annual carbon saving of almost 900,000 tonnes of CO2.
Salix has been working with universities since 2006 and has invested £142 million of interest-free funding in thousands of projects at over 100 universities to date.

Since 2004, Salix Finance has been providing Government funding to the public sector to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and lower energy bills. Salix is a non-departmental public body, owned wholly by Government. Salix is funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Department for Education, the Welsh Government and the Scottish Government.
